How do I create a disk to boot up with the external CD-Rom drive in case of BSOD? Am running XP w/service pack 3

It would be easier if you made frequent images of your system. Those you can restore in 20 minutes. For XP, I suggest free Macrium Version 4.2.

@whs: Some reason you do not like Macrium V5 ?

What whs suggests is correct. With the Macrium program you can make a bootable recovery CD disk to recover the image backup you have taken. That way you will have not only XP Sp3, but all your programs and data as of the time of your backup.
