I just happened to find this notebook, and it seems very good to me. I cannot find it in stock anywhere now for a cheap price. It is sold out on both Newegg.com and Buy.com (If anyone knows where it is about the same price and not sold out, it would be much appreciated)

My question though, does it have a volume adjustment dial?

Checked some other sites, but it does not seem to be around any more. There is probably little hope, that it will turn up again. These models have a lifespan of 6 to 8 weeks in the store, then they go on to new model numbers.
I assume you like this one because of the 7000M graphics. That beats the usual 6150 any time. But else the PC is pretty poorly equipped. With 1GB of RAM you will not work Vista Home Premium very well.
Bottom line: Maybe you want to scout for an alternative - with decent graphics, that will not be easy though.

I actually was looking for a replacement for my current laptop, a Toshiba Satellite A215-S7413.

The 7000M graphics are a nice touch, but basically I just need a nice simple laptop. I already have 2GB of laptop RAM, so the 1GB is not a problem. I will probably install XP and Ubuntu on it anyway. The processor seemed like a decent one. The laptop will not be used for games, mainly just for school, work, and mobility.

I called Newegg.com and they expect a shipment in tomorrow.

If anyone knows of any other laptop under $600.00 that would be better, or a similar laptop for a lesser price, please let me know.

I would like it to have Vista, even though I will most likely remove it, because I would like to use it sometime in the future.

Thanks for everyone's help.

How about this one. They don't come any cheaper. This is this weeks special:

For XP and Linux that ought to be plenty.

And then there is this one, if you want a little more pizzaz:

I guess this is similar to the Acer Aspire 4520G (is the AS4520-5582 part of the gemstone series?). If it is of the same model/family, it does have a volume adjustment dial (infinite or unlimited scrolling something dial)
