Access denied in Notepad

I am running Office 2003 in Windows 7. When I opened a file in notepad & made changes to it when I went to save it I received "Access Denied". I am the only user of the computer & am logged on as Administrator. Thanks for the help!!

did you take Ownership of your computer? Have you adjusted your UAC settings? This in control panel user accounts. It will be your account. The othe rway is to rt click on the file > properties> security tab and see if you have rights to edit this file if not put a check in the box. I usually just go to my computer> click on "C" drive > then rt click on properties> security > check appropiate boxes to give yourself full access & ownership. This will give your admin rights to the entire drive.

Maybe you need to run Notepad as administrator?
