Access denied C:\Documents & Settings

Hi all, probable a pretty obvious one here, but it beats me.

Issue: when I try to open C:\Documents & Settings I get "acess denied". This despite my being logged in as admin.
I mean, I installed Windows 7 RC1 on the machine (and am the only user); before that the computer didn't even know it existed.
Now all of a sudden access is denied me...what's up with this?!

Any and all help is very much appreciated!

Documents & Settings (the same in Vista), should jump you to your User account. It is a legacy throwback from XP.
You cannot open it. It is a sort of shortcut, in a way. Some old programs need to go via it to install.
