Only one I wouldn't recommend is the Iobit software, it has a tendency to be either spyware or a rip-off from other similar products.

I know I am in the minority on this issue, but Windows 8 does not bother me. I am so used to Unity in linux. Like Unity, with windows 8 I just press the Windows key on keyboard, type in a few letters of what I want to run, hit enter and am taken to desktop with that software running. For me I find it much easier and more intuitive than scrolling through menus or shortcut tool bars. Just my opinion and what works best for me. Remember how many flavors of ice cream there are. Choose the one that you like.

I find it rather comical that Power8 claims that "•No installation - just unpack and launch" yet what do you download? Oh an installer.

For a start button/menu with no viral threats then I would get Classicshell. It is Microsoft duh!
