i have a folder for my pics and the name of the folder is called pictures. When i would click on it it would open to show my pictures. Now i have to click on the folder 4 times to open to show my pics each time it opens it shows the same folder. and i can no longer get to my pics from the control panel change desktop pic the picture option shows empty. I have no idea what happened can you help.

Before: c:\users\ulyses\pictures

Now: c:\users\ulyses\pictures\pictures\pictures\pictures this is what the folder shows up as now

Start > right click on Pictures in right pane > Properties > Location tab (on top) > Restore Default button --- if this does not put things back in order, come back. We'll see further.

Now go to the folder where the pictures actually are. Highlight all of them (e.g. with Vista Start + A). Then move all of them into the top folder (the one that PICTURES in Start now points to) and delete all the others that should be empty by now.
Edit: apparently you edited your post. So do what I said above and try my first post again. You have to get rid of the 3 folders that are too many.

If you reset the "Default" in Properties again (now that we got rid of the 3 others), they should disappear-- SHOULD, theoretically. No idea how they got there in the first place.

Instead of "Default" try "Find Target" in Properties.

PS: And please be a little more explicit in your postings. A foreigner like me needs a little more verbage.

just click on it. And OK or Apply, you'll see.
EDIT, That does not seem to work. Let me experiment for a minute.

Sorry, Try MOVE instead. MOVE > double click the folder in your name on the left > Picture Folder > Select Folder (on the bottom) > Apply > OK. That should work.

Yes, of course, there are 3 buttons in the little window:
1. Restore default
2. Move...
3. Find Target
It is number 2.

Well, I am glad you are a happy camper now. You are fluent in German. Very good.
PS; and sorry for the little mix-up with "Find Target". I did not remember right.
