Does anyone know if it is possible to have a thumbnail view of a .3gp video file?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Yep. if you run your 3gp file in VLC it will show up as a thumbnail in the taskbar (as long as you are running Aero)

Thanks for the replies,

I'd like to be able to view the thumbnail of a .3gp file in Windows explorer the same way i can with all other video files.

It's not a problem i just don't like seeing the icon when all my other video files have thumbnail views.

Thanks again.

You can try downloading one of the codecs at http://www.afterdawn.com/guide....._files.cfm
I'm not sure but I think those codecs provide preview handers for video in Vista.
I think so as when I installed the Vista Codec Pack at http://shark007.testbox.dk/ which installs both of the codecs the link above lists I got video previews for 3GP files.

Thanks, but I already have the Codecs installed and have no problems playing the .3gp files on my computer.

What codecs do you have installed to play 3gp files? Quicktime, ffdshow or something else?

I think all i'll need to solve this will be some kind of registry tweak that will allow .3gp to be displayed as thumbnails in windows explorer.

I have already enabled thumbnails for photoshop files and iPod (mp4) videos through the registry thanks to various websites.

Thanks for all your replies so far.

I hope someone can help!
