Lighthouse; can you confirm me since you seem to know.. I have a NexStar 3 External3.5 hd enclosure esata & usb 2.0 that seem to have a non-functional circuit board (5 years use)... I took the Seagate 500GB HD out and both a Sata/IDE to USB 2.0 Adapter that from the eSata and USB of my laptop (W 510 on Ubuntu) is not recognized... So, I want to buy http://www.cpustuff.com/7-pin-.....nches.html to plug as temporary hd to the 2nd hdd slot that use 7pin Sata also and use the power suply from the Adapter thing (sata to usb) for power suply... I just want to read my ext. hdd from a internal connection that from what I understand give you a larger possibility to extract the files that I want...???

Thanks

This what you meant? http://www.cpustuff.com/7-pin-.....f08ib.html if so I don't think so. You need a female-female cable I think.
