Bit random, but whs you seem to always link to chip.de - is it a popular german webiste or something?

Chip is one of the biggest German computer mags. The other one (I think the biggest) is Computerbild. I get a daily feed from Chip. That's why I am always up-to-date on what they have to say. Those are similar to Computerworld in the US.

I get delivered the magazine Stuff (in psot)
every month
but this is more of a gadgets mag, with computers and everything
not focus on computers, and not particularly geeky, just a good and interesting read!

I think we can put this thread on hold for a while. The laptop I was going to get is no longer available. Thus the alternative puts me well over budget to buy a monitor as well. Maybe in another couple of months.
I do appreciate all the effort you put in. But you know how quickly things change in the world of computers!

A 22 inch is always nice to have. With or without a new laptop. But you are right, prices go down every day.
