2010 office over 2007 home

I tried to help a friend of mine, her new computer windows 7, and office 7 home, we need to isntall office 2010, I can not figure out all the problems
1. Contact manager unable to install
Lync, needs a patch, no idea which one.
32 or 64 encryption, which one shall i use.
Visio , will not even start the installation
Project same stuff does not starts the installation

Any help will be greatly appreciated

If you mean Office 2007 instead of office 7, then you need to remove Office 2007 from the computer and then install a 32 bit version of Office 2010.

Which office version are you installing of 2010.

professional is the version we are trying ti install, Santo, thanks, how do i select the32 bit version?

MAD, you have to completely uninstall all previous versions of Office before installing Office 2010 as Santo suggested above.
I would install the 32 bit option, but this is not critical.

What is questionable is Visio and Project because they are not supplied by Office Pro but as separate programs. Again, they will not install unless 2007 is uninstalled completely. You will need to reboot your machine after the uninstall.

Now install office 2010 complete, when done, reboot your machine.

To install visio and project, you will have to apply the keys for each app. Those keys do NOT come with Office pro BTW.
