So I am beginning to experiment with building a custom gaming PC. I have a general idea of what to do, but I'm unsure on some parts.
Here's what I've come up with:
Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/.....6813131802
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/.....6819116492
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/.....820233365. (x2)
GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/.....6814121658
SSD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/.....6820148441
HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/.....6822148840
Power Supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/.....6817171063
Now for the array of questions...
I was looking at the new AMD FX 8 core processors and equivalent motherboards. They are far cheaper than the Intel setup I have above. I have been told to always go with Intel, but I have only heard Intel is better... How so, and how is an Intel 8 core superior to an AMD 8 core?
I chose the GPU based on a friends opinion, but I have a different setup than him. I plan to (in the future) upgrade to SLI with another 660 Ti. Are they good for that and will one card work with a triple monitor eyefinity setup?
Just in case its important, I'll be running mostly games like BF3, Crysis, and the like. However, though I am not building the computer specifically for this, I do a lot of 3D CAD for my schools robotics program. I use Inventor for that.
Thanks in advance.
