My e-mail stopped sending on 21 March 2008. I don't know why. I can still receive. The above error number comes up asking me to verify my e-mail address in my account properties. I've looked in everything I can find and my e-mail address is correct. I am on a wireless laptop and we have a main PC upstairs with a different e-mail address. Please can anyone help me I've looked at where they say to go but it's no help. Many thanks Micegirl

What email service and email client do you use?

Oh - I'm such a novice at this. Do you mean Bt Internet (our ISP). SMTP? Microsoft Outlook we use and I am on Vista Home Premium if that helps.

Have you set up Outlook using the instructions here:

http://office.microsoft.com/en.....41033.aspx

You will need these setting for BT Internet:

If you use BT Internet for email then that is your email service.
If you use Microsoft Outlook on the computer that is your email client.
There should be a Tools->Accounts or such place in Microsoft Outlook you can verify it's the information that coates719 listed.

Thank you both. I've checked all this out and the only thing that is wrong is that a test message can't be sent when it has checked everything. I'm using pophost.123-reg.co.uk for my incoming mail and mail.btinternet.com It does say contact your ISP when it can't send the test message. The upstairs PC is working fine. It should be something quite simple but nothing is looking wrong with the settings. Any more ideas?

By the way I typed in the http address as put above by coates 719 and it comes up not found - verify your address.

Do the settings for Microsoft Outlook on this computer match the ones on the upstairs computer?
