Thanks Chris, I wasn't sure what was needed.

I have a Sony digital video recorder and I am importing it to Windows Movie Maker, I also have Nero that I can use. I transfer my video by using the USB cable. My resolution is set at 1024 by 768 and as far as viewing I view it however Mover Maker runs it. I did not have a problem before I did an upgrade to Windows service pack 2 and then to service pack 3.

Well, this is not my area, but based on my experience here you will be asked the following questions by those who know:
1. What is the make and model of your recorder.
2. What software are you importing the video into.
3. How are you transferring the video from your recorder to your PC.
4. What is the resolution of your monitor, what is the resolution of your recording, and how are you viewing your video (ie, original size, 1x, 2x, full screen).
5. Feel free to put in any type of detail I may have missed. The more info the better.

The other Chris

I figured out the problem. I went into my display properties and clicked on settings then a advanced tab and then troubleshoot and noticed that the setting was in the middle and not full, so I put the setting to normal and now things are back to normal. But I still have one problem that I hope I can get fixed. After upgrading to Microsoft service pack 2 and then to service pack 3 I am having problems transfering video from my recorder. The quality is poor. I think the video is pixelated. How can I resolve this problem?

Ok I did the download and I still am not able to get 3D. I can't even use the screen savers that come with the computer. When I tried one of the 3D screen savers it states: could not find any compatipatible Direct3D devices. Could this be a problem from doing the updates with Microsoft?

@jd2066,

Thanks. That link is messed up. The screen was "flashing" when I posted.

Both links do specify (14.10.3 6/28/2005) which is correct.

Do you have any idea why the HTG site sometimes appears unstable and does multiple replies when fetched ??

I don't get that at other sites and also have been showing a "Error on Page" in the tray for the last several days.

It is not on my end because other sites are fine.

Kindest Regards,

indyjourney,

Go to Intel link below.

READ THE (READ ME) and (RELEASE NOTE) Files in all sections of the page.

It appears the top of page Display Driver is a combined driver and was the last 840 series display driver released.

Download and install it.(14.10.3 6/28/2005) Put your system in as XP home. It makes NO difference.

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=757&OSFullName=Windows*+XP+Professional&lang=eng&strOSs=44&submit=Go%21

Let me know what happens after you make the installation.

Not sure why Intel Support told you that the Display Driver was unavailable but that is just the way the Cabal operates.
Kindest Regards,

I have Windows XP Home. I recently did and up grade to Windows SP2 and then SP3. I have experienced problems with transfering video and downloading games. I was told that it could be my display driver, that it might not support what I have. I have gone to Intel's website and what I have is no longer being manufactured therefore I can not get any information or support from Intel. So I do not know how to check if what I have is working or compatible. Can I change what I have or get something new from Intel that will work with what I have? If I have to change what I have how do I do that?

I have an Intel 82845G display driver that I have found out is no longer being manufactured. I went to Intel's website for support and found out they don't give support. The problem I have is I did some updates with Microsoft since then I have problems when downloading games and transfering video from my video recorder to the computer and also the 3D screensavers that come with the computer do not work. I downloaded updates for Directx and also updated the display driver but I still have no 3D. I have tried to get information from Intel but they keep reminding me that they do not give support for what I have. Can I get a different driver or a different version from Intel that would work with what I have? I have Windows XP Home. I really don't know much about display drivers and can not find helpful information about them.

Thank you
