Hi Rick,

Just hadn't visited the forum today. Saw it this morning and was in no mood to check out what was wrong, so I just deleted AVG and installed Antivir to be rid of the hassle:)
I've already reversed it.
And if you wonder why I just don't keep Antivir, well, I like Antivir too, but it has no emailscanner in the free version and AVG does. That's why I stick to AVG.

Best wishes!
Sarah.

SarahJames,

This was a simple one. Sometimes one can tell when many people are having the same problem by just observing the number (hits) views on the topic. I saw they were going up plus checked out a few other forums real fast. We had close to 1000 views on this topic.

Kindest Regards,

Should have seen this sooner! I had the same problem, so I uninstalled AVG and installed Antivir.
I'll reverse that:)

Apparently it has been a problem for everyone, I had it as well. It is server side according to the AVG forums and has now been fixed.

raphoenix, I had just notice the message when I read the post. You were right on target, it is a software update/server side issue. That is why I love this forum, lots of geeks that love techonolgy.

It is not a problem with Vista updates.
I have XP Pro.
I have had automatic updates switched off for 999 years, so it aint that.

I have the same issue.

It might be a problems with Win.Vista updates since I did updated, but that was yesterday.. shouldn't the problem have showed up yesterday? I did turned on my computer on and off during the day (since I've been coming and going out) and didn't got that problem until about an hour ago when I turned my computer on again.

I am also having the issue. It will probably resolve when AVG realizes it is on their side.

Appears folks do.

Read last postings on this other forum dated today.

DO NO NOT INSTALL ANOTHER AV ON TOP OF AVG.

Did you install MS Updates this past week ??

If so, could be another issue.

For right now, hold tight and let's see what develops.

Rick I reload and check the configuration, but the problem is still there. I wonder if anyone else has the same problem with AVG antivirus.

rimanere2,

Reload and configure the program.

Almost sounds like a server side problem getting update files.

Post back as to results.

I got AVG antivirus running on my computer for almost six months version 8. However since today when I tried to update there is a message saying .bin file is missing. I reinstall the program but I still have the same problem. Now the message says connection with the update server has failed.
Thank you in advance for your help
