seeing as no one has any answers, i will supply additional info in the matter. i've noticed that and found out that though this problem is fixed in the latest version i guess it has something to do with a bug after i installed compiz-fusion and emerald (i installed them through synaptic manager and from original sources, not the test sites of compiz) well hope someone could report this as a bug or test it for themselves. anyway, i hope this gets fixed soon. end.

this is a brief description of my problem and how to duplicate it

1. open nautilus and maximize the window. close nautilus.
2. now open nautilus and unmaximize it. the window did unmaximize only that it still fills the whole desktop. but if you do it the other way around like so:
3. resize the 'current' unmaximized nautilus and close it, open it up and it retains its size.

any suggestions?

many thanks
