New task-&gt;explorer.exe leads to an endless loop of starting and crashing explorer. So i did an HP "Non-Destructive" system restore, using the recovery disks. This is when i log on and find that i've gone from sp3 to sp1 and i no longer have access to my documents, i went into safe mode and attempted to give myself access but that failed. My idea was to boot into ubuntu and just copy paste my My Documents folder into the new user folder made when i logged in after restore, but i used wubi so ubuntu doesnt have its own partitions and the MBR was "restored", plus i lost the live cd i used to have. i do have an ubuntu iso, so i could run out and buy a cd to make a new one, but i dont think i would be able to access the host drive without being on the installed Ubuntu. Anyone got any ideas? I would realy like to avoid reinstalling windows, i dont have backup and i would also have to reinstall ubuntu. </p>
