So, check the Setup Utility / BIOS menus and make sure that it's enabled.</p> <p>Did you check in the Device Manager? I would expect the Realtek HD Audio device to show up there, but if the correct drivers are not installed it might show up as "Unknown device". I have onboard Realtek running under Vista and I see:<br /> * High Definition Audio Device<br /> * Realtek High Definition Audio</p> <p>However, it may be completely different in XP SP3. Check the properties sheet for any audio devices to see if there are conflicts or they are disabled. If there are no obvious problems, try uninstalling the audio devices, then restart your computer.
