Dave,

If you are still having problems you could always email me the file and i will rotate it for you and email it back.

I have a number of programs that can do it depending on the file type.

Dave, a MOV file is and Apple Quicktime container. Thing is, this container can contain video streams in different formats, such as H.264 or Sorenson. Without additional filters, Windows Movie Maker will not import this file type. If your daughter can provide a properly rotated copy, that would be ideal.

Hi decided to uninstall the VLC player so when i download it says it's a MOV file , i then converted it to avi to play it, moved it to Movie Maker, it plays for 2 seconds then stops , What i am going to do is see if my daughter can re do it in the correct orientation other than that i will be buying a bottle of Whisky and giving it the 2 fingered salute

Cheers Dave

Well, that seems like a lot of steps. Will the original .avi file not play in Windows Media Player?

Can you open the .avi file with Windows Movie Maker? It's always better to use the original video to get the best quality output. When the clip is in the storyboard and the rotate effect has been applied, yes it should play that way in the preview screen.

I just tried it on my system with a 30 second movie from my digital camera. The original video is a 320x240, 15fps MJPEG .avi file. I added the video to the storyboard, added "Rotate 90" from Effects, then selected Publish to -> This computer, selected "Best quality playback", then clicked the Publish button. Took about 5 seconds.

What steps are you using and where do things go wrong?
