But you can set the 97-2003 format (or any other available format) as permanent default.<br /> Click the Office Orb (top left) in Word &gt; Word Options (on the bottom of the orb window) &gt; Save &gt; Save files in this format -- here you can set the default &gt; OK and off you go. You have to restart Word for it to take effect.</p> <p>Edit: Aleeve, rereading your post I am not quite sure whether your guidance was for a permanent default setting too. If it was intended to be that, I am not clear on how that works.
