<description>&#60;p&#62;Does your laptop show the battery is being charged?  If the system is plugged in most of the time, the battery should be fully charged and there should be no charging indicator.  If the battery loses some charge while it's plugged in and then has to be recharged, then it could be shortening the battery life.
