@smash

I just ran the diagnostic program I mentioned earlier and it might be
what your looking for. As I said earlier it came preloaded with my
computer as part of hp total care. It runs tests on every part of your
system and I believe it will also perform a stress test. To find out
more just google pc doctor. Just thought I might help.

Bart

PS: I don't know if it's free, though.

Yes, that's what I was asking. Did you want something like that or something that actually pushes your system to the max (can be expensive in hardware, (as you watch the smoke curling up))

All the hardware on a PC. The reason is I have some slowness on a clean OS install and I think it is hardware. I have seen hardware problems before and I dont think I have any of the tool that I use to have.

Hardware is a pretty broad term. Generally if you want any results worthwhile, get a program that diagnoses specific hardware issues.

I have a program called Hardware Diagnostics Tools from PC Doctor, which
came preloaded on my computer. Is this a useful program I should keep or is it just more bloatware from the manufacturer that I don't really
need? I have a HP desktop with Vista home premium.
