You can still use the a element, url bbcode element or just type a url in and it automatically turn into a link. I use Kaspersky. Spybot once a day as you said and for watching my registry, CCleaner for the registry and the other junk once a week or so - but not cookies. Those I clean by hand. Don't want to logon to all those websites after all cookies are gone. Got it for $600 after $200 rebates. Specs are 250 GB hard disk, 256 MB video, 2 GB RAM, 15.1 16:9 TFT display, 5.1 surround, dual layer DVD-RW, three USB 2.0 ports, built-in 7 card reader, built-in web cam, etc.</p> <p>First thing I did was uninstall Norton that had the free six month trial. Then had to go to ZoneAlarm's site to get a Vista version of my software [which was free, by the way.]</p> <p>Installed it and it's working fine. Anti-virus and firewall, for $30. I run them once a week too (if Spybot only would not need so long to get going). AdAware I used to run but it never really found anything. Another one I think is useful is WinPatrol. Although it is from a German mag and in German, you'll be able to figure out the rankings in the tables. I really am a Kaspersky fan but Norton actually came out pretty high on the list. I understand they made a lot of progress for their 2008 edition. I agree with you on McAfee, that sucks. I got rid of it too. And they still owe me a $60 rebate that I am waiting for since 6 months. But as Scott once said, it's like your preference for beer. One day one is ahead, the next day another. BitDefender that usually also comes away pretty good is warned against (at least in German circles) because apparently it itself could be the gateway for malware. They seem to have a hole in their own product where the bad guys can slip in. It was interesting to learn that the security suites can be a security risk themselves - and not only BitDefender.
