Going to check around and see if a buddy can get me a "real" install CD.

I considered using a "file sharing" site to try, but I fear what ELSE I could be getting.

I'll just manage with 2000 for now. I appreciate all your research.
Is there a way to close this out?

Skyholder
---
The MS Complete Uninstaller for Office 2000 will only work for Windows 2000 and below so says MS.
---
The only way I know to get rid of ALL the Office 2000 Registry Entries is to Clean Install the Machine. :(
---
If the Office 2003 installation CD/DVD(s) were not made correctly, a Clean Install of the O/S still may NOT solve the Office 2003 installation issue.
---
Not good to run (2) Different Versions of Office on the same machine unless installed in Dual Boot O/S situation.
---
Regards,
Rick P.

"EDIT: If this is NOT a Clean Install, you can get something like that if the OSE location has changed."

No fair, you just stepped into techno jargon. Can you break it down? I was able to inmstall Office 2000, so did, and was then trying to load 2003.
Should I uninstall 2000? Do something with the registry? Then try again?

Skyholder,
---
I have never seen a message like that before even on this Largest of all Premier Edition of Office 2003.
---
Installation from a Hard Drive takes about 20 Seconds.
---
A CD install takes longer of course but never have seen a cache message during a clean install.
---
Will search around.
---
EDIT: If this is NOT a Clean Install, you can get something like that if the OSE location has changed.

Skyholder,
---
Am looking at a complete original MS CD/DVD of Office 2003 and that one was also copied to one of my extra Hard Drives for a backup.
---
ALL the Cab Files begin with a Letter.
---
Not sure why installer is looking for a Number Cab.
---

Nooooooo. Not resolved. It will not install because it seems unable to find file 01561403.cab.
Any thoughts?

Attempting to install Office 2003. Everytime I try I get a message that file 01561403.cab is missing. I have no idea how to get this.

I've seen fragmented responses, but never a fix.

Any thoughts?
