It appears that WMP always wants to sync and won't let you just transfer. You should try some other software. Who makes your player? I have a Creative Zen Vision:M and the software that comes with it, MediaSource, allows you to just transfer. They really do not cover "copying" to a MP3 player. Even with manual sync, Media Player wants to make my player mirror my hard drive. Maybe this some users want the same identical, music while they are away from home as they have at home, but not not all users. I started to use Windows Media Player 11. From what I can find, when I want to add music, Media Player will sync my hard drive and my player. If I am adding new music to the player, but had deleted some music from my hard drive, WMP will add the new music and also delete from my MP3 player the music that has been deleted from the hard drive, so both drives "match" one another. So they are in Sync. Isn't there anyway to just add music and not have to go through this syncing nonsense? What I am doing now is to time the "download" and stop the sync as soon as the new music is added. I have looked and looked but I cant find an answer.
