faiadnj, hello. Did you try the F11 key during bootup? This seems to be the standard method to launch the HP Recovery Manager when you can't access the OS.

faiadnj. Hi and welcome.

Have you tried typing "recovery" ( no quote marks) in Start Search?
That should bring up Recovery Manager where you can go to do recovery.

It might not be there though.

faiadnj,
---
You need the Original OEM O/S Installation that was in the Recovery Partition which was deleted.
---
Don't believe the Recovery Discs sent to you by HP have full deployment installation capability.
---
Regards,
Rick P.

Ok, so I've had some problems with my HP laptop...

When I found out that the recovery cds that had burned did not work, I got too frustrated and ended up ordering recovery cds from HP. However, since the cd I received wasn't specifically for my computer, I tend to believe that my computer isn't running as smoothly as it could be. It freezes up at least one time every time I use it and I think it has to do with drivers on the cd that HP sold to me. Recently, I have done some studying up, and discovered that the HP_RECOVERY partition that was deleted was recoverable so I decided to restore the entire partition. After creating my own partition, placing the HP_RECOVERY into it, and setting it as the active partition, I received the message "bootmgr missing press ctrl+alt+del to restart."

My question is:
Is there any way that I can get the HP_RECOVERY partition files to work? Or is there a way that I can place the files onto a bootable cd so that I can get a full recovery?

I don't see why this isn't possible since I have the entire partition back completely. Though I couldn't get it to work, something tells me that it can be done; I'm just not the computer ninja I wish that I was. I know that some may think "why are you tryin to do this when you have recovery cds from HP?" Well, like I said before, I have the feeling that this cd isn't quite right for my machine. In addition, I know that the HP_RECOVERY folder came on the computer when it was brand new, and basically I am hoping for a miracle on a complete recovery of my laptop, which is reliable as far as not freezing up on me all the time.

Any help would be much appreciated, even if it is to tell me that this is not possible.
