is there any way to turn a computer on without the soft key on the front of the case? Maybe some of those wires got disconnected somehow?

Hey Rick,

took all other wires off except for the power switch. reversed it, put it back. Nothing happens. I mean nothing, no lights, no beeps, no fans turning.
I have to go somewhere for the next hour and a half.. but i'll be back after that.. i read somewhere that CMOS might need to be cleared.. could that be a possibility?

I will do my best to describe what I see happening and what I have tried. First off I have tried connecting the wires from the case to the MOBO using the above diagram. Nothing happened. No lights, no beeps, nothing. While just re-arranging the wires to other slots, I have gotten the blue light to light up on my case (which indicates the HD fine, according to the manual). The case I am using is Thermaltake SopranoRS VG7000BWS Black SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case. When we hit the power button we have not heard or seen anything happen. The only activity that we've seen is the light on the front of the case (which is a blue light) and that's it. Nothing else. we've checked and rechecked that we're matching the MOBO's wiring configuration, but when we do match it perfectly, we don't get teh blue light even. If i do turn around the power switch like you suggested in the post above with the wiring picture, is there any chance of me shorting out the board by doing that?
