See the article at http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20090205/ts_alt_afp/usitinternethealthfinancegates_20090205133542
I thought this was a strange but amusing thing to do* and was wondering was others on HTG thought about it.
Reminds me the xkcd comic linked to at http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/todays-xkcdcom as it's the same TED event.
I wonder if they will attempt to ban Bill Gates. Something tells me they will at least be double checking of what he brings with him from now on :)

* Assuming there is no harm to the people because of it which is what the story says though I'm a little sceptical of that claim.

Edit:
I just read more of the article and found some good quotes:
TED curator Chris Anderson fired back at the legendary computer software maker, joking that the headline for the video of his talk to be posted online at Ted.com would be "Gates releases more bugs into the world."

In a TED session titled "Reboot," Gates also called for vastly improving the quality of teachers at US schools because it will take "brilliant people" to solve the world's woes.

"I hope I'm not in the Reboot session because you have to reboot your computers and associate that with me," Gates joked. "That might be fair, but don't think about it."

Edit 2:
I just found the video of his talk at http://www.ted.com/talks/bill_gates_unplugged.html
