You can do this on any computer, put it on a flash drive, CD, DVD, flopopy disk and tennis shoe network it back to your computer and click on it. Besides imaging I suggest you look at syncing the data. That is a lot faster.</p> <p>3. If the system really goes south, a system restore does not effect the data. And unless you make daily images of the one and only big partition, you are liable to lose some data.</p> <p>4. For the system, imaging is the right procedure. I found that Macrium is the fastest and safest method. If you want to familiarize yourself with Macrium V5 (which is the latest version),<a href="http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/73828-imaging-free-macrium.html?ltr=I"> use this tutorial</a>. It also includes a tutorial about the recovery steps that one of my friends has contributed. There is also a link to my Fileswap from where you can download the WinPE .iso.
