If you’re looking for a cheap way to integrate a touchscreen-controlled stereo into your car, this clever Nook hack turns the inexpensive Android tablet into a polished mobile media center.
XDADevelopers forum member Craig Bru posted the entire build log for the overhaul of his Jeep’s stereo console. What started as a big hole in the dash ended with a polished quick-release dock for his Barnes and Noble Nook tablet. He can easily pop it in and out and, while it’s in the dock, it not only controls the car stereo but functions as a full Android tablet (including interfacing, via Bluetooth and a specialized app, to his car’s stats).
