FixStyleSheet for GoogleReader Adjusts Headline Spacing
Chrome: One if the biggest complaints about the recent Google Reader update is the large spacing between headlines. This simple Google Chrome extension returns the headline rows to their former size.
It’s a one trick pony but it’s a pony many people will be thankful for. Install the lightweight extension and refresh Google Reader; the spacing will go from the new broad entries back to the old narrow entries. You get more headlines with less scrolling, just like it used to be.

For Firefox use Stylish extension + New Google Reader Compact style (http://userstyles.org/styles/55555/new-google-reader-compact).
I actually think this one is better.

It fixes the margins, the spacing, the button size and it changes links back to blue.
Anyone know of a way to do this in Firefox?
Love it! Thanks =)
On Opera there is https://addons.opera.com/en/addons/extensions/details/google-reader-absolutely-compact-mod
/g..
if you click on the cog, then click Display Density: Compact, you’ll likely solve your issue.
@Jonathan That only works in GMail, not reader.
@Marc
Yes, download Greasemonkey extension. Go to userscripts.org search for a script called google reader compact design and voila. There are many other scripts for google reader, you can pick and choose which works best for you.
@Marc
Scrap that script. Use Google reader absolutely cusomizable script instead. It’s leagues better and customizable
Check Google Redesigned add-on (www.globexdesigns.com) for a neat and very compact presentation of Google sites – including Google Reader. It’s also available for Google Chrome. I love it and found it after the latest Reader release.
