Build a Coffee Table MAME Console [Weekend Project]
Sure you could play your classic arcade games with a modern controller, but what’s the fun in that? This impressive table-top controller console brings back that feeling of being right there at the arcade machine.
Make Magazine shares a how-to guide in their Project Wiki that will turn a pile of parts into a table top console for your MAME arcade emulation enjoyment. The project is definitely not a duct-tape and done-after-a-beer project–it may end up being a multi-weekend project for the new-to-tinkering and the busy. The end result, however, is a gorgeous table-top console with the feel of a real arcade bank.

Was Super Mario Kart an arcade machine at some point? I’ve seen the original Super Mario Bros. in an arcade cabinet a couple times back in the day, but I didn’t think they had arcade versions of their Super NES games. Or can MAME emulate console games as well? (As opposed to using something like ZSNES or SNES 9x.)
