Oh no! How will that poor Ubuntu system ever survive such a vicious attack from Windows malware?!

i love these. always gives me a lil chuckle
got one of those on my iPhone one day. had a good belly laugh
LOL on your iPhone. That beats mine on the Mac.
Didn’t the same kind of thing happen with the Mac Defender? Like it would pop up and show a windows xp style interface?
It’s a script in a web page, not the actual malware itself which is why it’s running in a browser on Ubuntu…
One would think that the piece-of-scum script-writer could at least use proper grammar.
What happens when you click “Remove All”??? :)
i too have had one on my iphone and had a little chuckle… joke was on me though as my friend, my mum, my sister, a number of people at work all fell for it and i had to fix it :(
@Bobro I know. These are such a hassle to recover from. Sometimes it’s a simple fix, but in the worst case I’ve had to reformat.
No kidding. Worst part about this garbage is that it STILL fools people or makes them freak out for some reason and stop what they’re doing to call the nearest computer guy. I am just like “that’ll be $75 to block that website from your computer” LOLOL
mmm…. fake XP window and A-V alert on browser… – last time it happened to me i was visiting pleasant sites… – you know…
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!! So funny!! It’s like this happening on Vista or 7 because it’s just weird, bu UBUNTU?! Come on! How stupid can these scams get?! LOL
No-one noticed that this Ubuntu apparently runs on DLL’s ? That’s like a car running on sand.^^
Besides that the picture is very funny, yes.
Thanks for sharing that.
No, actually that was the whole deal with Mac Defender, it looked like a mac app and called itself Mac Defender instead of Windows defender, if someone visited the same site from windows they would get the windows version if I am not mistaken.
Steve, I would imagine that some sort of payment page pops up.
In South Africa, 3.5″ floppy disks are referred to as “stiffy disks” (as opposed to the use of the term “floppy” for the 5.25″ disks that preceded them).
