    I have been roasting coffee for 15 years, and started with a hot air popcorn popper. It’s an awesome way to get into roasting. I used two poppers, to allow one to cool while the other was cooking. I worked like this for at least 4 years, then moved to a variety of table top coffee roasters. Try a cast iron pan sometime, on any heat source: outdoor grill or side burner, stove top, I like the woodstove for a completely self-sufficient roasting experience.
