I’m glad to see I’m not the only one that does this
Ya, I do that too.
That’s exactly what I do. Even though they’re grayed out, you can never be sure!
Ever since one of the AVG installs switched the home page even if you unchecked the parent box, I’ve always unchecked the lower boxes before the upper ones.
Co sign!
they will still change your default if you dont uncheck those sometimes
I’d never thought of that before but now it’s going to bug me.
I hate that! I make sure they all are unchecked.
Doesn’t everyone do this?
I did that once or twice, but can’t say I always do that.
But yeah, better safe than sorry. :P
Good, so I’m not the only one that can’t stand when programs do that. haha
They ought to create a virus that does nothing except remove and disable tool bars everywhere.
I hate those things. Anybody who makes a tool bar should have his personal banking information sent to bad web sites in Vietnam.
Seriously thought I was the only person that did this, but seeing the comments it seems I’m not the only one! Phew!
Glad to see others check this as well…how many times have family and friends (or co workers) called in a panic saying “i just loaded a kewl app and now I lost control of my browser” or “whats this new toolbar/app/software I diddn’t load this!” Oh yes you did….
Use Nitnite and I’tll do it all for you; automatically..
I decided to try Ninite a while back. Then I had to reinstall Windows.
yea ninite works sometimes…i have had it work flawlessly…then other times, when i click on one of the programs installed from the ninite package, i get BSoD. so im torn on it.
That’s right. Those times when installing software was just easy next, next, next…finish are gone :) Now it is better to be carefull.
Yup I do that too
And I thought I was being a tad bit OCD by doing that. It’s good to hear that I’m not the only incredulous one out there!
I call it crap 2
Ditto, ditto and, oh, wait, D to the I to the TTO. Lol. Glad I’m not the only one.
I’ve never thought to do this. Might now though! hehe
If you’re not paranoid, you’re not paying attention.

Portable apps FTW. Even on local hard drives. The provide the same if not nearly the same experience. My only run in was with foobar2000 (won’t integrate into context menus if it is portable) and 7z (I believe the same problem).
