TunnelBear Offers Dead Simple VPN Setup for Circumventing Access Restrictions

It’s frustrating when a web site denies you access because you’re outside of the country the site services (UK readers experience this all the time when accessing US sites). TunnelBear’s dead simple VPN service can help.

Installing TunnelBear is a snap. You download the app (available for Windows or Mac), install it, sign up for a free account, and you can instantly begin tunneling your traffic to circumvent location-based restrictions. The free service offers 128-bit encryption and 500MB of traffic a month. That’s not a whole lot of bandwidth but it let’s you get a taste for the service and if you only need to access a site or two you’ll be fine. The premium service is $4.99 a month and comes with 256-bit encryption and unlimited bandwidth.

Hit up the link below to grab a copy of the installer and take TunnelBear for a spin.

    @mike

    @Mike: “500 MB/month = useless”

    But it’s enough to show any individual that the system works on their particular hardware for their particular site. If it’s then worth $5/mo is up to them.

    Oh, you wanted it for free? I’m sure they’d happily do that for you. First though, get your local ISP (mine is AT&T or Comcast) to connect you up for free, and then tell Yogi here about your experience.

    The extra Gig ya can get per month is great
    Have tried other VPN’s but all useless or dangerous or usually both
    Am very pleased with this little App as live in Europe
    Well done “Geeks”
