Cellphone User Movement Visualized as Firefly Blips [Video]

What does it look like when you visualize hundreds of smartphone user’s movement across Europe as a series of firefly-like blips? You end up with a video like this.

Michael Krell from Crowdflow got 880 iPhone users to participate in a visualization experiment that tracked their movement around Europe. At the end of the month he took all the data, rendered it in in the beautiful firefly glow you see above, and created a pretty interesting look at the movement of a crowd of unrelated people in the process.
