Great Linux World Map Surveys the State of the Linux Empire
You may recall the Social Networking Map that appeared last year; the Great Linux World Map is a linx-centric equivalent with popular (and less popular) Linux distributions mapped over the world.
The map is the product of Dedoimedo; he writes:
I just realized something. There is no Great Linux World Map. There’s one for social networking, but there’s no such thing for my favorite operating system. Needless to say, where’s there’s demand, someone ought to supply it. So I created one.

Cute! Though they should’ve put Mint near Debian since it’s slowly moving some of its side projects to a Debian core. Also, I wouldn’t characterize Mint as a “rogue state”, it’s more of an “autonomous state” geopolitically speaking.

Long live the Rogue State of Mint! I would have put the Noob Desert between Mint and Ubuntu on the map.
I’m missing the Gnome 3.0 something. It looks much more promising than Unity (ditched it after a couple of days).

I suppose there’s no love for the actual UNIX OS or any of the BSD derivatives? Or would those be moons or other planets? Personally, I’m thinking they might be mapped as lost continents or perhaps even arctic poles. But what do I know? I ACTUALLY READ THIS ARTICLE! (I sure wish I could play in “la la land” a little more. Bye!)
