Microsoft Offering Students Free Xbox 360s with Computer Purchase
If you’re a student (or at least know one with a .EDU address you can borrow) and you’re in the market for a Windows 7 PC you can score a free Xbox in the process.
It’s a pretty straight forward offer. You buy a Windows 7 PC from a participating retailer that is worth $699 or more and use either a .EDU email address or show them your student ID and you get a free Xbox 360. The offer starts in the US May 22 and in Canada May 27. You can read more about it at the link below.

I may not want a 360 but I sure as hell can appreciate a free game console.
My mom is looking into buying a laptop, I may just nudge her in this direction and convince her to buy it in my name so that I can score the console.

Although I am looking to pickup a new Desktop and having a 2nd Xbox especially for free sounds insanely tempting. Only got a weekend to think abt it though.
Don’t you guys think its a big middle finger to Sony with all the trouble their facing right now? Personally I think it’s a smart marketing ploy to reel in those last few PS3 users that got shafted after the big ID theft debacle.
I was browsing the web and saw that sony offered students a free PS3 with purchase of one of their sony vaio laptops. This offer was going on last August. Anyone know if something like this will happen this August? Is it some sort of tradition for sony and microsoft to give away their consoles every summer?
It is a typical Microsoft scam – you must purchase from Microsoft or Bestbuy at inflated prices. YOU CANNOT PURCHASE AT DELL OR HP OR COSTCO ONLY buy COMPUTER FROM MICROSOFT
