How It's Made: Hourglasses [Video]
Rare is the person, besides eccentric super villains, that rely on hourglasses for any true measurement of time. Regardless, there is still a small demand for them; read on to see how they are artfully created.
In the video below Marc Newson demonstrates his process for creating hour glasses from large cylinders of glass. It’s an interesting process that mixes elements of glass blowing, lathe turning, and a large dose of care and patience.
