Monitor Your Downloads in a Tab Instead of a Separate Window in Firefox
Are you tired of downloads displaying in a separate window when using Firefox? Then say goodbye to that extra window and shift it over to a tab with the Downloads in Tab extension.
Here are the options for the extension. You can switch it back over to the separate window when needed and control how your shiny new downloads tab works. Very nice.

Note: Works with Firefox 2.0 – 4.2a1pre.

Chrome goodness :)
Thanks!
I prefer download statusbar
@inpixies Me too! Download Statusbar is awesome: http://downloadstatusbar.mozdev.org/
Very nice. Had Download Statusbar in the past, but got rid of the…status bar to get more space, so I’m gonna give this Downloads in Tab extension a try.
I want my downloads in a sidebar. That way, I can be downloading 20 things and no matter what tab I’m on, my downloads can be visible. What else am I gonna do with all that extra real estate on the side of my window?
And chrome has this by default
Here is another alternative download manager, that also places your downloads in a tab. I like it because by using this Stylish script, you get a similar using interface to the one used for add-ons in Firefox 4.
@Flea:
Download Manager Tweak (if you’re fine with those icons):

Now, if only DownThemAll would provide us with in-content download window.
@Ja5087 – But Chrome also has that huge, ugly, and very irritating bar that pops up at the bottom of the browser. There needs to be a way to “dispose” of that bar…
I’m a proud Opera-user and enjoy this function :)
Firefox has the best collection of add ons.
There’s also the All-In-One-Sidebar that lets you monitor downloads in the Opera-inspired sidebar.
I also prefer Download Statusbar. http://downloadstatusbar.mozdev.org/
