Why settle for Christmas lights in the corner when you can have a real star map as your ambient lighting. Build a fiber optic star map to light your geek cave in style.

Instructables user MrTick shares an awesome tutorial on how he turned a fiber optic Christmas tree into an impressive star map. His guide covers hacking the original tree apart, building the frame for the star map, threading the fiber optic cables to create the hundreds of stars, and finishing the whole project to provide a neat and light-leak free enclosure. Hit up the link below to see how he built his and use his tips and tricks to make building yours easier.
