Change Your MAC Address to Avoid Free Internet Restrictions

If you frequently find yourself at an internet café or other location that provides free internet but restricts the amount of time or bandwidth you use, changing your MAC address can often be enough to circumvent restrictions.

Once you hit the wall fire up a MAC address editor like RyII MAC editor and simply update the address to a new one. If you need your original one (such as for MAC-based Wi-Fi security on your home network) you can reset it to the default at any time.

RyII Mac Editor is a free, Windows only download.

There is another software SMAC is pretty good to do this job.

I actually hoped for a console based solution for that

For a linux solution, a pretty simple technique is here.

Dont forget most adapters only let you change the MAC so many times so unless this is spoofing it will only work so many times.

Or you could move on so that some other people could sit down at a table and enjoy the internet as well. There’s a couple cafe’s I can’t visit any more because people show up at 9:00 and camp out all day.
