Are you looking for a quicker way to work with images while browsing with Firefox? Forget saving those images to your hard-drive for editing and just send them straight to Pixlr instead with the Pixlr Grabber extension.

You can use the Context Menu (shown in the screenshot above) to start working with an embedded image or a selected section of the webpage as desired.

Or if you prefer (and your Status Bar is displayed) you can also access the Pixlr Grabber menu in the lower right corner. Choose the part of the screen or whole image that you want and send it on its’ way.

The image you want to work with will open in a new tab at Pixlr with a ready to go work area. Make whatever modifications or changes that you desire to the image and then save it to your computer or online when done.

Using the Pixlr Grabber extension is quick, easy, and can be extremely convenient if you are using a portable browser when away from home!

Another totally free image tool (With Layers!) is gimp (http://www.gimp.org/). I’m still figuring out how to use it, but it mirrors photoshop in many ways.
