Remove Facebook Clutter from Webpages with the Facebook Blocker Extension [Multiple Browsers]

Are you tired of seeing Facebook Like Buttons and all other manner of Facebook clutter plastered across your favorite webpages? Now you can clean those webpages up with the FacebookBlocker extension for Firefox, Chrome, and Safari browsers.

Here are the details from the website about how the extension works:

  • What does it do? This browser extension stops Facebook social plugins—including those within iFrames—from running on sites other than Facebook itself. This includes ‘Like’ buttons, ‘Recommended’ lists, and should also stop any Facebook scripts from tracking your browsing history.
  • What about Facebook Connect? Don’t worry: sites that use Facebook Connect for sign in purposes, or that use Facebook as a conduit for other functionality will continue to work as expected.

You will need to restart your browser or refresh the webpages after installing the extension (depending on which browser you are using). Once that is done you are ready to enjoy all of that wonderful Facebook-free web browsing!

I was enthusiastic when i saw this article. I thought, “finally, an end to all those ads”
But wait? You’re blocking THIS? With an extension? :D
I’ve done it already, with AdBlock Plus…!
    (blocked the frame, simple enough)

I’d request for a post on how to remove facebook’s TEXT ADS that look like this:

@Hatryst – This extension is focused on those who specifically want to eliminate all of the Facebook clutter without using a heavy hitter like AdBlock Plus. ~_^

There is AdBlock Plus for Google Chrome. It is way better than AdThwart. Trust me I’ve tried both.
