Facebook Buys drop.io, Shutting the Service Down Entirely
Normally we wouldn’t write about some random web service shutting down, but we know some of our readers use the drop.io service to share files, so we figured we’d mention it.
The service is completely shutting down, and your data will be gone—so if you have files stored there, make sure to download them and save them offline before December 15th.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What’s the point on buying a company like drop.io to shut it down?
The point is in acquiring the technology behind the service so you can tack it onto your own existing crapfest. (Facebook, in this case.)
