How-To Geek
View Images in the Same Tab in Chrome
Other browsers allow you to view an image by itself in the same tab but not Chrome. If this has frustrated you time and again, then we have a very nice solution for you.
All that you need to is install the extension and enjoy using that wonderful new Context Menu entry to view images in the same tab. No more of those separate tabs just to view an image!

Thanks :)
You don’t need an extension for this. Just drag any image in the web page to the tab header until an down arrow shows up. The image will replace the web page when you drop it. Try it.
