Are Your Children Spending too Much Time in Front of the Screen?

How much time do your children spend in front of the screen? If it is more than two hours per day, they run a higher risk of having behavior problems according to new research.

The children in the study were given a questionnaire to measure their psychological well-being with regard to emotional, peer, conduct, and hyperactivity issues. The results of the questionnaires were consistent concerning the “two hour limit/higher risk factor” regardless of the amount of physical activity each child engaged in.

From the article: In other words, according to the results of these questionnaires, the kid who spends hours every day playing soccer and constructing tree forts and skipping over sidewalk cracks runs the same risk of behavioral problems as the kid who is couch-bound, so long as they’re both dedicating more than two hours a day to watching a screen of some type.

How much time do the children in your home spend in front of a screen? What are your thoughts on the results of the study? Would you agree or disagree with them?

    Wow, I spend my hole day in front of the computer, I don’t seem to have any behavior problems.
    (As far as I concern :P)

    The thing you have to consider is : have your habit change since your in front of a computer? What you use to do before having a computer? Were you more creative? Spend more time with your friends ?

    Try to cut your computer use for 2 to 3 weeks and see if you notice behaviour change etc.

    If I had children, I would hope they would want to be in front of the computer screen more than the TV screen.

    @Kevin
    Actually, from what I have noticed, I hope my children are more in front of the tv than the computer.
