A Pioneer is a pioneer, no matter what. The iPhone brought a revolution, and very soon, touch screen phones came out crawling like insects. But iPhone has a special respect and reputation. It was the best, and will always be the best…
Sometimes I feel like hating all other touch screen phones. All copy cats, calling themselves ‘innovative’
    Long long discussion…
Mac VS PC, iPod VS mp3 players, and now, iPhone VS iPhone copycats…
We owe 80% of today’s technology to Apple ! ;)

P.S. Apple was proud of Google, when it co-operated in the iPhone development (Google maps). But Google is now trying to become Apple’s competitor. Funny world :)

That’s no different than Microsoft and Apple. The two worked together at first with their OSs, now they’re competing. Another example with those two: Microsoft made Mac’s browser until Safari came out. IE was on Mac… Now that’s weird. XD

@hatryst,what cave have you been living in?
I’ve been using a touch screen smart phone since 2000, LONG before the iCrap

Apple fans typically do not know history well. They think Apple invented everything. Sorry guys, but I had an mp3 player in 1998 and Xerox invented the GUI. I don’t hate Apple products but because I do not excrete money and I value the freedom to customize I don’t buy them. I do however get very irksome when Apple fans demonstrate their ignorance by claiming Apple invented everything. That detracts from their legitimate accomplishments.

At best, the comic caricaturizes the difference in mentality between iPhone and Android users, rather than the capabilities of the phones. With the right programming skills, there is nothing you can do on an Android that you would not be able to perform on an iPhone.

Who cares about history and who invented touch screen, mp3 player, etc.? That doesn’t matter now.
All that matters is what kind of technology we can use and enjoy right now.
    Different needs, different solutions.
Just use the common sense and choose the device that will fit YOUR needs, not that one you’ll be looking cool with.
I like Apple products but I’m not going to buy every single new iGadget only because it’s Apple.
One thing that makes me really happy is the choice we have nowadays.
Everyone should be able to find the device that meets your expectations, fits your needs and skills without ruining your monthly (or yearly) budget.

Agreed. Touch screen phones existed way before the iPhone was born, but they were chunky, stylus operated, and not user friendly. The iPhone revolutionized everything.
The idea is not to convince anyone to buy Apple products. I’m not an Apple representative or so, but the fact is that everyone should know the reality ;)

Competition leads competitors to develop innovative products and new technologies to keep pace with each other in the aggressive business world.

The benefit reaches users to experience new technologies and gadgets.

Apple was by no means an innovator in most technologies, however they did allow these technologies to go mainstream.
