Remove the Skyscraper Ad in Windows Live Hotmail
Are you tired of the large sidebar ad in Windows Live Hotmail taking up too much screen real-estate? Firefox users rejoice because a solution is now available.
There was a vast improvement for our inboxes with the rollout of Wave 4 for Windows Live Hotmail. All except for one thing…that huge ad on the right side.
When measured on our system the ad covered a 162*777 pixel sized area. Now you can get that screen real-estate back with a simple add-on. Just install it, restart Firefox, and enjoy the extra room.

Microsoft’s naming strategy may be stupid, but that’s no reason for a technology website like howtogeek to publish an article where the author confuses Windows Live Hotmail with Windows Live Mail.
any extension for chrome??
I just use Adblock Plus
@Ravi Gupta – I stand corrected. ^__^ Fixing it right now…
It’s never appeared for me when I log in to my account. Maybe I have some other extension in FF that already takes care of the problem. All the ones I currently use are in the Pink Flamingo collection.
Very very useful!!! I h8 that skyscraper! Thank u! :)
for chrome try this

Use AdBlock Plus for Firefix – It will take care of most other site’s ads also.
Also, try Stylish. Great for adjusting the real estate on many web sites, e.g. for Google Map you can view and print a LARGE map instead of smaller with text clutter.
maxthon classic’s popup/ad blocker blocks it automatically
Good for Firefox and Mozilla. Now, how aboutt all of us Vista users..I would love to get ridf that nusiance.
@Ike – If you are using Firefox on Vista then this will work very nicely for you. ^__^ Or if you are using a Chromium-based Browser such as Iron or Chrome then this user script will do the same exact thing. ^__^
