Friday Fun: Racing Fun with SuperTuxKart Racer
We finally made it to another Friday so it’s time to kick back with a cool free racing game! Tux Racer is a free game based on the Mario Kart concept, but features the Linux mascot Tux instead.
There are a bunch of fun tracks and characters to choose from, and you can play using either single or multi-player modes.
Playing Super TuxKart
Single mode lets you race against 4 other characters to get the best time.

SuperTuxKart allows multiple players (up to 4 at a time) on the split screen and allows multiple screen views. There are power-ups scattered around the track containing weapons and other items you can use against other racers to deter their progress.

If you drive off the track the “angel” tux will rescue you with a magnet so you can start again from where you left off.

SuperTuxKart is open source and runs on any platform (Linux, Mac OS X, XP, Vista, and Windows 7) but we’ve only personally tested the Windows versions.
